Low groans in the night, shrieking hinges, furtive movements in deep shadow.   This was definitely not the night to be out while the spirits prowled.
Inside the house however, raconteurs entertained a large group of participants with tales of the supernatural, the unknown, the uncanny, and the just plain peculiar.

Organized by, and with the bulk of the decorations put up by Susan, this event proved once again to be a popular way to spend an evening.   Ghastly lighting, strange figures in the dark and stories of the other side, followed by a flashlight tour of the house and grounds kept people entertained, and from time to time, a bit chilled.

Ed recounts local tales, legends and ghost stories to a rapt audience.

Kerwin reminisces about the pirates who once prowled these shores, leaving behind many strange tales and ghostly happenings.

Doug sent shivers up the spines of many with his accounts of what "might" be seen.

Don had many looking over their shoulders for things that might not be what they appear.

The large group in attendance thoroughly enjoyed the stories, paused for some light refreshments and then proceeded in small groups, each with their own ghastly raconteur, to tour a darkened and eerie Ottawa House.

For a final event of the season, held just before the Autumn Solstice, the Society wishes to thank all the story tellers but most especially Susan for all of her efforts in bringing this off.  It was a fun way to finish up the active year.

Now the work begins to put the museum to bed for the winter.
