While work continues on the interior of the Ottawa House with the kitchen and genealogy room floors getting a new coat of paint, the Museum Committee picked up a Henderson painted cottage style bedroom suite today. Donated by Kathy and Lucien Legendre the suite will be featured in a new exhibit on the second floor this coming season.
Frank Hartman and Ed Gilbert with Lucien and Kathy Legendre who most generously donated a complete 100 yr old + family bedroom suite.
Frank and Ed loading one of the pieces for the move to the Ottawa House. This bedroom suite has been in Kathy's family and in the same house since 1905. She and Lucien not only donated the suite but supporting and exciting documentation such as photographs of the original owner of the suite, some information on he and his family, along with family anecdotes and some original polling information from 1931 and 1933 for the Diligent River area. The Museum Committee is tremendously excited by this donation and extremely appreciative of the consideration by the Legendre's.
Frank places one of the pieces downstairs. They will remain there until the space into which they are to be moved for display is cleared. Back |
