Historic Society Hosts Author Peter Landry for Book Signing May 29/08 |
The Historic Society was pleased today to host author Peter Landry at a presentation, discussion and book signing of his new Book "The Lion and the Lily"

Peter is an erudite and entertaining writer who speaks with authority and enthusiasm on his subject, the 18th Century struggle between France and England for control of North America, in particular, Canada. He does not attempt to attribute motive, or deny the facts of the history of this struggle and lets history speak for itself, leaving the reader to interpret events for themselves, unlike so many contemporary propogandists who write 'revisionist' history.
His two volume set of books lay out stories of political intrique, deceit and betrayal, sacrifice and heroism all by the most unlikely of 'heroes': the European settlers on both sides of the conflict.
