Ottawa House By-The-Sea Museum
Membership

Membership in the Parrsborough Shore Historical Society is not limited to residents of Parrsboro, nor even of the historic Parrsborough Shore. Any individual with an interest ranging from Acadian presence through Fundy shipbuilding or gravesites and historical records will find membership in the Society beneficial.
Annual fee for membership is only $12.00 per individual or if you would rather, sign up your family for the same low cost.

Donations

The Society supports it's historic preservation of artifacts in the museum, it's genealogical function and the publication of it's bulletin "The Ancestral" and membership fees are never enough to cover all the expenses.
Donations are most welcome at any time and can be sent to:

Note: The Society has embarked on a massive fundraising campaign to save the Ottawa House. The house has deteriorated over the years and now stands in need of serious intervention lest this unique historical artifact be lost to Nova Scotia, and indeed the nation. The provincial government has already made a significant contribution to the campaign and now the Society will press forward to Save the Ottawa House. See the latest information on the progress of the restoration in the restoration section of this site.

You can send a direct contribution to the cause to the same address above. Please mark clearly on the envelope Save the Ottawa House, and your contribution will go directly into the capital fund which will be used exclusively for this purpose.

Or, you can "purchase" a piece of the FOUNDATION OF OUR FUTURE. For $5.00 you can 'buy' one stone of the original foundation which will go directly to ensuring that the stone foundation will be restored. Once again mark your envelope clearly to earmark your contribution to this specific and special area of the restoration. Include a return address and you will receive a certifcate commemorating your contribution to this particular aspect of the restoration.
